305-307 Pleasant Street
305-307 Pleasant Street is an abandoned two-family 1897 Colonial Revival in the South-End. A few blocks from downtown, this Receiver property is on a block where WHALE is restoring two other properties, Howland House and 318 Pleasant Street. The historic nature of the street is intact and restoration of this low-income neighborhood is very important. This project is partially funded by the City of New Bedford’s Community Preservation Act program.
Currently, the exterior of the building is vinyl sided with damaged vinyl windows and the interior has been gutted out with no bathrooms or kitchens and no heating system. The project includes a Phase 2 restoration of the building to include new historically accurate and energy efficient windows, new clapboard siding, a new historically sensitive portico entry, restoration of historic trim detailing, and the interior build-out for a two-family for sale project. R. P. Valois will be the General Contractor for exterior restoration of this property.
