Transformation at County & Allen streets

November 30, 2012

Romero Hse 2For travelers along County or Allen streets in New Bedford, the transformation of the long-moldering James A. Tripp House has been remarkable.  Day by day, the 1881 double-turreted house has been taken apart and is now being put back together.  Scaffolding now encases the street sides of the property, as new clapboards are being installed and painted ochre yellow, a popular color in the period it was built.
