On behalf of the New Bedford Port Society, Waterfront Historic Area LeaguE, and Working Waterfront Festival, we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the Taste of the Port event. This kickoff to our capital campaign raised significant funds to support the Port Society Complex Project and was attended by over 200 guests. These funds will be used to restore the Seamen’s Bethel and Mariners’ Home, make both buildings handicap accessible, and create a Fishing Heritage Center to tell the story of New Bedford’s development as the number one fishing port in the country.
